Chris and I had lunch near Ojai earlier this week, then decided to continue the drive we’d started recently by continuing into the Los Padres National Forest. We followed the CA 33 through the Los Padres to the 166, then followed the 166 to Bitter Creek.
Bitter Creek is one of four units that comprise the Hopper Mountain National Wildlife Refuge Complex, an area set aside for the protection of endangered California Condors. While the National Wildlife Refuge isn’t much to look at, it did provide some nice views of the Los Padres and San Joaquin Valley.
